Nasios Varnavas

Sessional Lecturer Design

Nasios grew up in Nicosia where his architectural anima flourished between lines, thresholds and obscure histories. He studied Architecture at the University of Bath and has recently completed his education at the Bartlett School of Architecture. He has worked for leading offices - Kengo Kuma Associates in Tokyo, Coop Himmelb(l)au in Vienna and for Will Alsop in London.

His work has been exhibited in Cardiff, London and Nicosia. It fuses advanced digital and tactile techniques into novel meditations that envision architecture as an unstable amalgam guided by destruction and construction.

Nasios believes that architecture, similar to fishing, should involve travel, long stories, preparation, anticipation and daydreaming.
