Danka Štefan ARB RIBA

Sessional Lecturer Creative & Future Practice

Danka is a qualified architect and a chartered member of RIBA with extensive practical experience in educational, residential, and commercial design projects. She studied architecture at Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia (IUAV) and has working experience in both the UK and Italy. Danka is currently an Associate Architect at Hollaway, and previously worked in Birmingham / London (Glenn Howells Architects) and Canterbury (HMY). At Hollaway, Danka has been the project architect on a number of successful large educational projects for Kent County Council from initial design stages through to completion. These include The Beacon, Folkestone SEN School (completed in 2016) and Nexus SEN School (completed in 2017). Danka was also the Project Architect on the Curious Brewery in Ashford for Chapel Down (completed in 2019), which was shortlisted for the AJ Awards (2019) and RIBA regional award (2020), and was the winner of RICS South East Awards for the commercial category.

Danka is also an active RIBA member and was previously the chair of the Canterbury & District regional RIBA branch. She is a regionally elected member of the RIBA Council for the South East, serving for a three-year term beginning September 2020. In addition, she has been organizing Women in Architecture Meetups in Canterbury since 2014.
