Crystal Bennes // Artist

Crystal Bennes is an artist, a writer, a researcher/ recovering academic and curator. Her current interests include: rocks and geology; the quarries of Paris; epistemology; philosophy of science; museums and archives; Niels Bohr; the feedback loop of visual culture between art and science; C16-C18 portraiture; analogue photography; Begriffsgeschichte; Baroque opera; the Encyclop├ędie; Latin epic poetry; patisserie.

As an art, architecture and design writer, she is also Contributing Editor of Icon Magazine and Metropolis. She writes a regular series on museum stores for Apollo, and also contributes to Disegno, Helsinki Design Weekly, and Wallpaper.

Multistory is a student and alumni led guest lecture programme series at Canterbury School of Architecture, University for the Creative Arts that seeks to invite architects, designers, writers, curators, photographers, and artists to speak about their work.
