Associate Lecturer Architecture



Rupert is founder of ‘Open Practice Architecture’ which specialises in the learning environment. The practice aims to create evocative and engaging learning environments through an active involvement with the arts and sciences. Design is focused upon children’s responses to environmental conditions, spatial qualities and materials.

Prior to founding OPA Rupert worked at award winning practices Block Architecture, Adams & Sutherland and Surface Architects working on a broad range of projects for clients including CABE, the V&A and Birkbeck University. Rupert studied at the Bartlett, University College London where he is now a visiting critic.
