Maegan Icke

Associate Lecturer in Architecture

Maegan Icke is an architectural designer currently based in London. She joined [Y/N] Studio in August 2017, having previously worked for Hawkins/Brown and atmos studio on a range of schools and community research projects in London. Maegan graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Master’s degree in 2017 having completed her undergraduate degree at the Canterbury School of Architecture, after which she was named by Blueprint Magazine as one of the top graduates to watch.

Alongside her work in practice, Maegan enjoys collaborating with other artists and designers exploring a range of themes and media. Her work folds together geological, cultural and environmental heritage, making subtle changes to the believable to enable the speculation on the unbelievable. In 2017, a collaboration with Artist in Residence at the Slade School of Fine Art, led to an alternative architectural walking tour exploring geological journeys in Canary Wharf. More recently, she has been collaborating with a jewellery designer on a project to be exhibited in Oslo, building on research carried out during her MA which focussed on solar architecture and speculative economies in the Rhondda Valleys.
