Jon Shmulevitch

Associate Lecturer in Architecture

Jon is a practitioner and educator based in London. He currently works at a collective of architects and artists called muf, where he leads projects ranging from urban design schemes to small-scale temporary interventions.

He has special experience in leading large scale engagement programs that bring local communities into processes of brief writing, research, design and guardianship. These programs use experimental methods of participation, often using on-site 1:1 testing to ‘perform’ research and proposals.

He has extensive experience in designing play as part of urban infrastructure and works closely with ecologists to find ways of bringing children close to nature.
Before working as an architect Jon trained as a carpenter, working on the restoration of historic timber frame buildings.
