Revit & BIM
Talk & Workshop: Tues 10 April

Revit & BIM Public Talk & Workshop
By M.Arch students Anastasiya Neumiarzhytskaya & Benjamin Champion

As a part of our Future Practice module, we are putting on a public talk and short workshop introducing anybody who is interested to Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Autodesk Revit. BIM and Revit are two key areas in the current professional world of architecture, and we wish to pass on our knowledge to help out those who are unclear on what BIM is and how Revit works. While aimed primarily at undergraduate students, all courses and cohorts are welcome to attend.

The public talk will cover the basics of BIM and how it influences the design process, from first conception through to the realisation of a live project. In addition, it will introduce Revit as the industry standard BIM software and explain why it is becoming so popular. Following the talk and a short break, we will teach those attending the workshop some Revit basics to demonstrate how to interact with the interface to create a robust model, and how this can fit into a common student workflow to save time and produce fantastic results for final presentations.

Tuesday 10 April 2018
Public talk: 16.00 // Architecture Foyer
Workshop: 17.00-19.00 // PC Lab G.01
