Xavier Llarch Font via Zoom

Xavier Llarch Font // The Decorators
Thursday 14 May // 6-7pm
The lecture will be held via Zoom: https://uca.zoom.us/j/93280493894

Xavier Llarch Font is a spatial designer who studied at Elisava School of Design and Engineering in Barcelona and at Central Saint Martins. In 2010 he co-founded The Decorators, an interdisciplinary design collective based in London. The Decorators work on spatial design projects that aim to reconnect the physical elements of a place with its social dimension. Their clients include local authorities and cultural institutions, with work ranging from context-specific engagement strategies and public realm landscapes, to exhibition design and interactive interiors. The Decorators are currently design fellows at Stanley Picker Gallery and have been selected to be part of the British Pavilion 2020, representing the United Kingdom at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale.

MULTISTORY* is a student and alumni led guest lecture programme series at Canterbury School of Architecture, University for the Creative Arts, seeking to invite architects, designers, writers, curators, photographers and artists to speak about their work.

This year, under new curatorship, we have chosen the theme of Futures: Industry to fuel discussion on how the profession is adapting and innovating to cope with changes in climate, society, and procurement. We aim to ask ‘what kind of diversifications are emerging, growing and changing the wider industry, and how can we participate?’

MULTISTORY* lectures run from 1800 – 1900 on Thursday evenings in the Architecture Foyer at UCA Canterbury, unless otherwise stated. Details for each event are posted here in advance. Follow us on twitter https://twitter.com/cantarch to keep up to date on additions to the programme.

MULTISTORY* is free and open to all.
