M.Arch students to participate in the Venice Architecture Biennale 2018

Master of Architecture students Alanoud Al-Radaideh and Ozan Topsogut will participate in the programme of the Pavilion of Turkey at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2018.

Coordinated by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), the Pavilion of Turkey presents “Vardiya” (The Shift). Located at the Arsenale and conceived in response to the theme Freespace, the pavilion is envisioned as a spatial and temporal stage, providing a participatory platform for workshops, discussions and meetings. Curated by Kerem Piker the programme will welcome international architecture students, as well as academics, professionals, keynote speakers and visitors, inviting a diversity of voices to participate in a continuous process of learning and production throughout the twenty-five weeks of the Biennale.

The curators launched an open call for video responses to the questions: Why does the Biennale exist? What does the Biennale do? Who is the Biennale for? 452 students from 29 different countries and 70 cities applied for the project and Alanoud and Ozan are two out of 122 architecture students who were selected to visit the Pavilion of Turkey in weekly shifts as active producers of the evolving exhibition content. Watch this space to find out when they are there.
