CSAD takes part in
DAD Festival 2023

Staff and students on the Master of Architecture are participating in the DAD Festival 2023
"You can reach the world from Dover"

Organised by Dover Arts Development, the new arts festival is a summer-long programme running from July to October 2023. It offers an extensive listing of walks, talks, workshops and screenings as well as public exhibitions and happenings.

UCA Canterbury School of Architecture and Design contributes to the festival in various ways. In addition to co-managing the festival with DAD director Joanna Jones Professor Charles Holland realises “I’m looking out for you”, a temporary lighthouse on Dover’s seafront and will take part in a talk about literary depictions of Dover; Associate Lecturer Daniel Stilwell conducts a public walk along the North Downs Way Arts Trail; M.Arch Convenor Gabor Stark takes “Voltaire’s Rake”, the 3D cut-out of a Voltaire quote, on repeated promenades through the town; and in October, our Master of Architecture students will collaborate with the Future Foundry to build portable lighthouses together with young people from Dover.
